Village Hall Committee

The Village Hall was opened in 2000 in commemoration of the Millennium to replace the wooden 1st World War ex Army hut, which had served the village well for many years.

It is run on behalf of the Parish by a Management Committee, currently made up of representatives of five local organisations and up to six individually elected members. The AGM is held in March or April each year and is open to all Parishioners and Nominated Members to attend.

The new centrally heated building is a purpose-built Village Hall comprising the Main Hall with a portable and adaptable stage, a small Meeting Room which can be used for other purposes, a well-equipped Kitchen (cooker, fridge and microwave) and a Bar with a serving hatch opening into the Main Hall.

The Hall is used for varying events; classes, meetings, parties, wedding receptions, charity fund raising events, and is available for hire.  The maximum sit-down capacity is 100, but this number can be increased on other occasions by prior agreement.  Prices will be quoted on application.

An Entertainment Licence is held by the Village Hall which covers music, but a Bar Licence, if needed, is the responsibility of the Hirer.

The 2020 AGM was delayed due to the Covid-19 outbreak, details of which can be found in the news section of this website.
